Anne R. Smith,
LPC, is a licensed professional
counselor with a particular interest in working with eating
disorders, addictions and adult and childhood trauma. "Much of the process
of working with eating disorders requires bringing what is unconscience to
conscience awareness." Ann teaches and uses mindfulness practices to
facilitate that awareness. "The goal of mindfulness is to participate
in the present moment in a state of complete awareness of your behaviors,
body sensations and experience. Through mindful awareness the client
learns to accept his/her experience without judgment."
Anne enjoys seeing women and men regain control of their lives and their
ability to consider creative options to change through mindfulness,
cognitive behavioral skills and inter relational process. After retiring
from her first career as a flight attendant with Delta Air Lines, Ms.
Smith began pursuing her dream of psychotherap practice. Anne received
her postgraduate training at the Metropolitan Psychotherapy Community
Clinic (now Metropolitan Counseling Services). She has held a position
on the boards of MCS and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association
of Georgia. |
